Give Yourself Permission To Fail

By Max Jancar | Published: April 8, 2024 | 2 Minute Read

As part of The Breakthrough Letter, every week I send out a short email with one idea, one suggestion, and one resource to help you break through your breakup and create a new possibility for love, either with your ex or someone new.

Here’s this week’s edition.

Today’s Idea:

Don’t expect yourself to go through the breakup recovery process without any setbacks. It’s impossible.

Perfection like this is a mirage, a dumb myth that only brings disappointment if believed in. Don’t fall for it.

Instead, let yourself fuckup from time to time. Give yourself permission to fail. You’re human, after all. Perhaps all too human.

Today’s Suggestion:

Maybe one day, instead of sticking to the gym and your new diet, you go crazy with Netflix and chocolate cake and forget all about maintaining your healthy habits.

Or perhaps instead of going to your regular therapy session, you get shitfaced and proceed to fucking your ugly, fat neighbor just to feel something again. Only to wake up the next morning reeking of regret and bad decisions.

Whatever your next failure is, when it happens (and oh boy, it will happen), take a deep breath and let it go. Don’t beat yourself up about it, nor whine or mope. Chalk it up to experience and try not to repeat it.

Today’s Resource:

Radical Acceptance In The Face Of Adversity — a reality check for those unable to simply accept their breakup, as well as a crash course on how to come to terms with failure.

New This Week:

New articles:

New videos:

As always, feel free to reply to this email and let me know what you think. While I can’t respond to everyone, I do read everything.

Until next time,

Max Jancar
