As part of my newsletter, The Breakthrough Letter, every week I send out a short email with one idea, one suggestion, and one resource to help you break through your breakup and create a new possibility for love, either with your ex or someone new.
Here’s this week’s edition. Enjoy.
Today’s Idea:
I hate to say it but your ex is free to do whatever they want with whoever they want. Not only that, they likely want to experience all kinds of sexual endeavors now that they have a chance. And they probably will.
I know it doesn’t feel good to hear this, but it’s the reality. You can ignore it, but you can’t ignore its consequences.
So, while a pain in the ass to grapple with, jealousy is typically a valid emotion. What’s more, most people feel it post-breakup, especially when the thought of their ex with someone else creeps in.
Today’s Suggestion:
Rather than suppressing your jealousy the next time you feel it, acknowledge and validate it instead. This means telling yourself it’s okay to feel it and giving yourself permission to experience the emotion without judgment.
Once you achieve this, work on responding to your jealousy in healthier ways. For example, instead of acting on it by stalking your ex or trying to control them, find a constructive outlet for your feelings, like talking to a friend, journaling, or engaging in a favorite hobby.
Today’s Resource:
How To Deal With Jealousy After A Breakup — discover eight powerful ways to overcome ex-related jealousy. Whether you’re feeling envious because they actually are dating other people or are merely considering dating someone new, these strategies will help.
As always, feel free to reply to this email and let me know what you think. I’ll do my best to get back to you promptly.
Until next time,
Max Jancar
